Pavel Horejsi

Pavel Horejsi is a freelance photographer and videographer who has lived in Prague his entire life. He started as a photographer with the Czechoslovak News Agency in 1979, working there for ten years as a studio and architecture photographer, darkroom technician, before moving into reportage.

In 1989 during Czechoslovakia's Velvet Revolution he went to work for the Associated Press and was subsequently sent around eastern Europe taking pictures of the dramatic events in the early 1990s. In 1995 Horejsi left the AP to learn how to shoot and edit video. This led to him to a long freelance career as both a photographer and a videographer, taking pictures for clients such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, the L.A. Times, Life Magazine, Time Magazine, Yomiuri Shimbun and shooting video for NBC, Eurovision and Russian Television.

Horejsi speaks fluent English, Russian and Czech with an understanding of German. He has been a visual communicator his entire life and will not disappoint anyone desiring to take excellent and off-beat pictures of Prague.
