David Brauchli

Prague Workshops is a new series of intensive photographic master classes organized and directed by David Brauchli. Brauchli is an award-winning photojournalist who has lived in Prague since 1990 when he covered the emergence of Eastern Europe from Communism for Reuters. After leaving Reuters, Brauchli was a freelance and on staff for EPA, AFP, AP, Salon, Sygma, Newsmakers, Getty and the New York Times. He covered major historic events including Nelson Mandela's election, the Russian invasion of Grozny and the Balkan civil wars. Brauchli was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for his work in Sarajevo in 1992, South Africa in 1994, Grozny in 1995 and in 1997 he was the director of photography in Moscow for the AP when Alexander Zemlianichenko won the Pulitzer Prize for feature photography. Brauchli is a member of the National Press Photographers' Association (NPPA).
