PF Bentley

PF Bentley is a multiple award winning Special Correspondent for Time Magazine, specializing in covering domestic US and international politics and a documentary filmmaker and editor. Bentley has covered every presidential campaign and photographed every serious presidential contender since 1980. Bentley's skills at getting close to his subjects without intruding on the events being covered have earned him multiple awards from the prestigious Pictures of the Year Competition including top honors for his coverage of John Glenn's presidental 1984 bid, Dan Quayle's run in 1988, Bill Clinton's 1992 successful presidential campagin and Bob Dole's run in 1996. He has also produced and filmed three ABC TV's Nightline programs, the last in 2002 on former Senate Majority leader Tom Daschle.

Bentley was behind the scenes with former President Bill Clinton for his last week in Office, Inauguration Day 2001 and on his last trip on Air Force One. He has taken pictures of Ronald Regan, George Bush, Bob Dole, Jesse Jackson, Al Gore, Pat Buchanan, Bill Bradley and numerous others. Bentley's pictures have appeared not only in Time Magazine, but in the Washington Post, the New York Times Magazine and other newspapers and magazines worldwide.

Bentley has taught visual journalism at Brooks Institute of Photographer and was named Educator of the Year for Brooks in 2005. He shot the World Cup as chief cameraman for The Travel Channel hosted by Drew Carey in 2006. In 2007 and 2008 he was Senior Producer & Director of Photography for Reason TV, a bi-coastal web network he created and produced for the Reason Foundation. Bentley has been the Lead Instructor for the Platypus Video Workshops since 1999 and is a Certified Apple Pro in Final Cut Pro, the industry standard video editing program.
