Photoshop CS5 previews
Since Adobe released Photoshop CS5 today, there are a few sites already showing how Photoshop has changed and what you can do with it now. Of course if you really want to get a good handle on the new Photoshop, consider attending our Learning Photoshop workshop in late August.
The most comprehensive preview I've found so far is from the British site Imaging Resource who have a pretty detailed writeup of CS5 as they've been playing with it for a week now. You can read their review here.
DP Review has a little blurb after they had a discussion with Bryan O'Neil Hughes, Photoshop CS5 product manager. They have some photos of new tools and a little reporting about how CS5 has changed.
Rob Galbraith has also had a chance to go through the new program a bit and his thoughts about what's new and good about Photoshop CS5 are here.
Digital Photography now, a British site, has a full general write-up by Ian Burley.
Adobe of course also has some teasers already up on the web including a few tutorials, and you can get to most of them on the Adobe TV page. If there is no CS5 live right now it should be after the launch.
If you want to watch the launch of CS5 on the internet, you have to register here. The show starts at 11AM on the East Coast and 8 on the West.

“The past two decades have demonstrated an amazing interplay between customers who want to push the limits of their personal creativity and a passionate team of Adobe engineers who make those visions a reality,” said Kevin Connor, vice president of product management for professional digital imaging at Adobe. “We experienced this firsthand when we posted a ‘sneak peek’ video of the team’s work on the Content Aware Fill feature a few weeks ago. It quickly became the number one viral video online, with close to 2 million views and its ‘magic’ was one of the top trending Twitter topics of discussion. This version of Photoshop has some of the most innovative and extraordinary technologies to ever come from our labs and clearly customers are already clamoring for it.”
Paralympics Photo Gallery
Alain Pierre Hovasse and Nick Didlick, directors of photography at the 2010 Olympic games haven't quite finished their jobs in Vancouver, they are now in charge of the coverage of the Paralylmpic games. The Boston Globe's Big Picture has another fantastic gallery showing these athletes in action. It's very good and worth a look.

More Outstanding Photos from Vancouver
The 2010 Vancouver Olympic games are over, but there are still some excellent galleries out there of some really outstanding photos. Our instructors for the Introductory Digital Photography Course, Nick Didlick and Alain Pierre Hovasse really did a great job putting photographers in the right places to make all these great pictures. Here's the final gallery from the Boston Globe's Big Picture concerning the Olympics.

Some Final Vancouver Olympic photos
Here's another gallery from the Denver Post of the Olympics which are winding up in Vancouver. The two instructors from our Introductory Digital Photography class (or Digital Workflow) are there coordinating the photo positions and you can see that the last two years of hard work they did has really paid off with some fantastic photos. Here's the gallery from the Denver Post.

Vancouver Olympics photo
Here's a picture by Digital Workflow Instructor Alain Pierre Hovasse who is currently supervising the photo positions on Cyprus Hill at the Vancouver Olympics. He is working 18 hours a day to make sure that photographers have great positions to make all the excellent photographs we've been seeing in the papers and on the web.

Alain Pierre shot this with his Lumix GF-1 micro four-thirds camera. This is the half pipe that is in use on Cyprus Hill.
And speaking of excellent photos, here's a link to Olympic Pictures on the NYTimes
More Vancouver Olympic Pictures
Here's the Washington Post's Webpage with some Vancouver Olympic pictures. Our instructors for the Digital Workflow workshop are in charge of the photography for the Olympic Organizing committee so it's exciting to see the results from their two years of hard work.
Outstanding pictures of the Vancouver Olympics
Since we have two instructors in charge of photographic operations at the Vancouver Olympics, we thought it would be nice to see what photographers are producing at the Olympics these days. So have a look at the Big Picture from the Boston Globe, there are some beautiful images on the site.
